Title: Gravitational Pull (Vis Vires Trilogy #2)
Author: Marissa Carmel
Release Day: April 4th, 2013
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance
Cover Reveal Host: Lady Amber's Tours

Blurb:
Touch me, and bring me to life...

How do you move on when you don’t even know where you were going in the first place?

The Spirit Stalker is dead and I have finally started to erect my life. But I quickly discover, that just because the structure is built doesn’t mean the foundation is sturdy. As much as I try to manage my abilities, I can’t completely control them. The physical impossibility of the relationship I have with Justice has reached a boiling point; our fundamental problem is my inability to control myself from absorbing his power, and his fears of touching me because of it.

As if that wasn’t deal-breaker enough, a new threat looms on my horizon - Darklings.

They are grim reapers of the immortal world who surface every five-hundred-years to feed off the souls of magical beings who are weak, aimless, lost; those who have given up and want to move on.

They also hunt power. Which means, they’re hunting me.

Abandoned by the one person I need the most, I find myself in Melenia’s realm.  There, I’m courted by Siberian, a dangerous pixie who covets me, hunted by Death personified; all the while hiding my powers and my ancient bloodline. The pixie prince is alluring, and I feel so broken and vulnerable. I know giving in to him means giving myself over to him. But right now, I don’t care. All I want is to feel anything other than the loss and rejection Justice left me with.

Anything other than pain.

So what do I do when I’m scared to be touched, even though I know it’s the only way to bring my soul back to life?

Excerpt- Justice’s POV
We land right outside the gates of Keelin Castle. Extinguishing ourselves, we descend on the palace.
Walking authoritatively, we make our way down the nave-like hallway of the castle to the huge, golden double doors at the end. The throne room.
“Are you sure that’s where she’ll be?” Derrin asks snidely. “She might be waiting in her chambers for you.”
“Well if she is, she’ll be waiting a while.”
“It could be a good way to get some of your frustrations out,” he says boorishly.
“There’s more than one way to release frustration,” I threaten him.
“Bring it, bitch,” he grabs his crotch, not intimidated at all.
Asshole.
I push open the throne room doors, and as expected, we see the pixie queen perched on her throne waiting for us.
Emery surveys us as we approach. Both Derrin and I give a small nod in due respect as we reach her, but don’t be deceived, we are the supreme strata.
“Your little human has caused quite a stir,” she says evenly, but I can see the danger flashing in her eyes.
“She was the one who was attacked,” I quickly defend Liv.
“Was she? Or did she bring it on herself?”
My look becomes more intense. “What are you talking about?”
“My brother has taken quite a liking to her you know,” Emery says randomly.
Yes, I’ve noticed.
“If your brother knows what’s best for him, he will disappear from her life,” I say through clenched teeth.
Or I’ll remove him myself.
Emery’s eyes become razor sharp at my comment - she’s realized something. She slips off her throne and stalks down the three slate stairs to the floor where Derrin and I are standing. Like Liv, she is tiny, with long hair blacker than night and almond eyes just like Melenia’s.
“What is so special about this human?” she looks up at me, searing the question straight into my soul.
“Nothing,” I snap, but Emery knows me. She sees right through my lies.
“Then it will be nothing if I send the royal guard to take care of her, and rid my land of such contaminants.”
“Do it, and I will burn this entire realm to the ground,” I growl.
Her eyes grow a little wider, but she doesn’t back down from my glare.
“You love her.”
“No.”
“You deny it?”
“Yes.”
No.
“You loved me once,” she says vulnerably.
“What we had was never love,” I bite, “just sex.”
Ouch. That was harsh, even for me.
Emery’s eyebrows crease, and I know I have hurt her deeply.
It’s not a lie, I never loved her. We did have an intense physical relationship that included some emotion, but it’s incomparable to what I have with Liv.
She backs away from me, shifting her eyes between me and Derrin.
Derrin clears his throat. “Not to interrupt this lover’s quarrel,” that I highly enjoy watching, he tells me telepathically, “but what exactly did you mean when you said she brought it on herself?”
Emery’s full attention falls upon Derrin.
“Siberian didn’t give me all the details, but apparently she used her powers on him, and what she did, he described only as provocative.”
I clench my jaw. Provocative?
Images of Liv and Siberian reel through my head. What did she do to him? What did he do to her?
The thought makes me furious.
I’ve damaged us so badly; she turned to a threat more dangerous than the Darklings. And the only thing I can do about it is blame myself.
“So, is she in trouble?” Derrin goes on. “Is there anything we need to be aware of?” he hints. “Besides you sending the royal guard and Siberian?”
Emery contemplates Derrin’s questions for a short second. “Besides Darklings, what else should there be?” She looks over at me as I stand there still-stocked, trying not to give away the anger boiling over in my chest at the thought of Liv and Siberian.
“Who is this girl, exactly?” she pries deeper now, and I know we are heading into hazardous territory.
“She’s no one you have to be concerned about,” I dodge the question. “We just need to know if you’ve caught wind of any unusual uprisings?”
She is simultaneously lost and absolutely intrigued as she stares at me decisively. “No, nothing.”
I nod, and release an almost nonexistent sigh of relief.
“Do I have your word she won’t be harmed while she’s in Devonshire?” I phrase it as a question, but she understands my query is so much more than that. It’s a threat.
She nods her displeasure with a small, irritated frown.
We’ve collected the information we came for, and I’ve had enough of Emery’s probing stares. Surrendering to the ever-present pull drawing me back to Liv, and preparing for the shit-storm I’m sure awaits me once I see her, I turn to leave.
“What should I tell my brother?” Emery calls, taunting me. “He wants her.”
I turn back and glare at her. “Tell him he couldn’t handle her, even if he got her.” Then I slam the throne room door behind me, the sound echoing throughout the castle.
That pixie prick is dead.

The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

Author Ferris Robinson (http://easingintomyfifties.wordpress.com/) was looking for people to participate in the Next Big Thing Blog Hop and since I'm always looking for a good way to get Reviving Bloom out there I signed up.

Ten Questions about Reviving Bloom:

Was Reviving Bloom always the title of this book, even when it was a work in progress?

Pretty much, though the name didn't come about until I was on the verge of finishing it. The rest of the time I refered to it as The Story. I was afraid if I named it before I was close to being done I wouldn't finish it.

Where did the idea come from for the book?

I’d been reading a lot of werewolf/shifter stories and one night the idea came to me. It all revolved around the wolf pretending to be a stray dog and not revealing himself to his mate until she needed saved. The idea hounded my thoughts for months before I finally broke down and outlined out the characters and wrote the lake scene.

What genre is your book?

Young Adult Paranormal

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Pike would be Ian Somerhalder and Bloom would be Amanda Seyfried.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Reviving Bloom is a sweet, sometimes funny, sometimes sad story about how Bloom finds her true self.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

It's self published.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Almost a year, I didn't have a whole lot of time between work and my family and for the longest time I didn't know if I'd do anything with it, so I didn't try to rush it.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

There are alot of shifter/werewolf books out right now and I think each puts their own twist on the idea. Reviving Bloom would probably compare more with The Grey Wolves Series by Quinn Loftis or The Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater.

What inspired you to write this book?

I've always loved to read and write and deep down I knew I had ideas that would make for entertaining stories, it just took me a while to convince myself to follow that dream.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

The sass some of my characters give. I have one in particular who seems to be a fan favorite and honestly you never know what she's going to cock off.

Review - Half Blood

Earlier this week I adopted the fabulous Lauren Dawes for the adopt an author event being run by the Young Adult and Teen Readers facebook page. And I knew as her adopter I wanted to read and review her books. Lauren was sweet enough to give me copies for my honest review and below you'll find my thoughts on the first from her series Half Blood.

Synopsis: *WARNING: This book contains graphic scenes and sexually explicit content.*

"Swallowing her pained sounds, she forced the fear from her eyes. ‘You killed me,’ she breathed, swallowing down on the hard lump in her throat. It wasn’t often that someone got an opportunity to come face to face with their killer."

A battle for werewolf territory and rights has Rhett fighting for his life and for the survival of the pack. The last half blood—a half human, half vampire hybrid—has been found and Rhett has been chosen as her unlikely Guardian. The pack’s survival hangs on her completing her transformation, but a Sicarii—a vampire assassin—is hunting her to ensure that never happens …

Indigo’s hard exterior is nothing compared to the dark secret she carries within her. Her haunted eyes alone tell of her struggle and desire to live. But what she doesn’t know is that she is hard-wired for survival; the very blood in her veins and the legacy of her father demands it. But when her life takes a violent turn, her heritage and her fate may be the very thing to get her killed.

My Review:

Oh. My. Gosh!

I have to say I normally go for much lighter reads (I’m a big chicken when it comes to the darker stuff), but the world this author created was too well crafted for me not to love.  She unfolds the characters pasts one piece at a time instead of giving it to you all at once, which had me aching to click to the next page faster to find out what the next reveal would be. And trust me there were some biggies, her twist on the rapist completely surprised me.  And her spin on vampires and werewolves is a breath of fresh air that takes you back to when they were creatures to be scared of not cuddled up with.  That being said I’d still cuddle up with Rhett anytime. *sigh*

Anyway, back on task.

Indi is a broken soul, but underneath all the damage she’s taken in her life is a strong female lead you have to cheer for. She lets few people in (she doesn’t even give her real name out to the customers), but the one’s she does, she fights for. My favorite example of her unwavering loyalty and protection of the people she loves is when her brother Jerry asks, “Are you going to protect me Indi?” and she simply vowed, “Until my last breath.” There was no doubt in my mind the girl would give every last piece of herself to follow through with that vow.

Then there’s Rhett the hot, protective, dominant wolf chosen to be Indi’s guardian. Like Indi, he has his own demons, and they’re what keep him from pursuing something with Indi (even though it’s clear they have something special). The fact that she trusts him when she trusts few others should be enough to prove that. I so want these two to get together. They’d be a badass couple.

That all being said I’d highly recommend this to any adult looking for a good paranormal book.

Enlightening Bloom
Chapter 2 – Pike
*Unedited*

~Officially Make You Mine~
“I didn’t take that long, Tennessee.”

“Darlin’, I’ve been waiting on you for twenty-five years. Now get your beautiful self down this aisle so I can officially make you mine.”

She continues her walk towards me, never once breaking eye contact. When Bloom and Billy finally make it to me, I take her hand pulling her into my arms and press my lips to hers. I hear the guests hooting and hollering behind us, but I’m not ready to break away from her.

“You’re skipping the steps,” Elder Cathal Burke chides me. He’s the one proceeding over our wedding. It would traditionally be the Alpha’s responsibility, but I can’t proceed over my own ceremony so the responsibility fell to an Elder.

I pull away from the kiss, but I don’t look anywhere but at Bloom when I reply. “Ok, you can start now.”

“Today is a joyous day for our pack. Our Alpha is here to complete his mating bond and has invited all of us help them celebrate. Not only does he want to be bound to his mate by our ways; he also wants the outside world to know they belong to each other, so they’ll also be reciting the human vows to become husband and wife.” Cathal’s voice booms over the wedding party. “Our couple is going to first recite the traditional wedding vows, and then they’ll read their mating vows they personally wrote. Pike, will you please go first?”

I smile at my mate as I recite the vows that will connect us together in the human world. “I, Pike Lukas Masterson, take you Bloom Michael Daniels, to be my wife, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward until death do us part.” Finishing the last line I stick my hand out palm up to Tucker and he places Bloom’s wedding band there. I take Bloom’s left hand and slip the band into place on her ring finger.

“Bloom, it’s your turn.” Cathal guides.

“I, Bloom Michael Daniels, take you Pike Lukas Masterson, to be my husband, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward until death do us part.” She holds her hand out palm up until Bonnie places my ring into her palm. On a shaky hand she slips the band onto my ring finger.

“Pike, please recite your mating vows now.” Cathal tells me.

Placing my palm to Bloom’s jaw I use my thumb to trace her cheek bone as I recite my vows from memory. “Bloom, I was very young when I found out about mates. My father told me that a shifter’s mate is made for him and him alone and that one day I’d find mine. Since that day I’ve been dreaming about you and when I found you I knew the real you completely surpassed the dream I had in my head all these years. You’re more beautiful than a sunrise over a fall forest and sweeter than a berry picked ripe off the vine. But as beautiful as you are on the outside you’re a million time more beautiful on the inside. You’ve shown me how much you care for the people around you, even when they haven’t earned it and you’ve shown strength when most people would’ve had their spirit crushed. For all of this I promise I will always stand by your side to protect you, to support you, and to love you as my true mate.”

I won’t mark her until we’re alone tonight, but at this moment I feel the need to lean in and kiss her neck right where my mark will be tonight. A shiver runs through her body and when I pull back I’m grinning. Bloom rolls her eyes at my grin and I chuckle so quietly I know only she will hear it.

“Bloom, it’s your turn.” Cathal tells her.

Taking my face in both of her hands she begins, “Pike, I never knew the world held love like this and if someone would’ve told me it did I would’ve laughed in their face, but from the moment you came running into my life I’ve seen it everywhere. In the way you love and guide your pack, in the way you love and care for your sister, and in the way you love and protect me. For opening my eyes to this kind of world I promise to always stand by your side, to always care for you, and most of all I promise to always love you as my one true mate.”

As she finishes her words she tugs my face closer and plants her lips on mine. The wedding guests begin whooping and hollering again.

“I’m pleased to introduce your newly mated Alpha pair, Mr. and Mrs. Pike Masterson.” Cathal shouts over the celebrating guests.

I pick Bloom up and spin her around, never letting our lips disconnect. Once I have her firmly back on her boot covered feet I throw my fist in the air to join in with the celebration. Out of the corner of my eye I see my beautiful mate shaking her head at me, but I know through our bond she’s smiling while she does it.

I guide Bloom back up the aisle through the confetti our guests are raining down on us and back into the house.  We stop just inside the door and I pull her into me for another kiss.

“Are you ready for the party, Mrs. Masterson?” I ask against her lips.

“Can’t we skip the big party and go straight to the more intimate one, Mr. Masterson?” She whispers her question back.

“Don’t tempt me.” I rumble nuzzling into her neck placing light kisses there.

“Mmmm, if you don’t stop Tennessee we’ll never make it to the reception.”

“Is there something wrong with that?” I ask pulling her tighter against my body.

“Down boy,” She laughs as she attempts to push me away.

“Your husband is not a dog.” I playfully growl at her.

“Wolf shifter. Dog. Same thing.” She teases.

Scooping her up I throw her over my shoulder and swat her butt.

“For that I’m making you go to your reception,” I tell her carrying her back outside where our guests are waiting under the tent that’s set-up.

“Pike Masterson! Drop. Me. Now.” She half scolds, half giggles as she wiggles around on my shoulder.

“Fine if that’s what you want,” I tell her as I slip her off my shoulder and smoothly maneuver her backwards into a dip. “Are you sure you want me to drop you?”

Gripping my arms she pouts, “No Tennessee, don’t drop me. It’ll hurt.”

I scoop her back up into my arms and holding her close to my chest I promise, “Darlin’, hurting you is the last thing I’ll ever do.”

She rewards my promise with a deep kiss, that’s more suited for the bedroom then a tent full of guests, but I’m definitely not complaining.

The sound of Tucker coughing pulls us apart. “Are you two ever gonna come up for air long enough for us to congratulate ya?”

Bloom pulls back enough that we can look at each other then turning to look at Tucker we both say in unison, “No.”

I burry my face in her neck to plant kisses and she giggles. In front of us Tucker turns to the rest of our guests and throwing up his arms announces, “Someone go get a crowbar. The love bird’s lips have fused together and we need to get them apart so we can start this party.”

Promised Teasers

Occasionally I share teasers on my facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MichelleTurnerAuthor#!/MichelleTurnerAuthor) and in case anyone missed them I decided to post them on here too. I'm going to post the teasers for Promised tonight and Enlightening Bloom sometime this weekend.

***Promised Teaser #1: Linc & Wyn (From Linc's point of view)***

“Do you love him?” I must be a glutton for punishment. But I need to know.

“That’s not how it works in my world.” She informs me as she wipes at the tears coming down her cheeks.

“Well in my world it does matter, so please tell me. Do you love this guy?”

She’s quiet for a long time and I’m on the verge of speaking again when she finally admits, “No. I don’t.”

“Then until your marriage is final give me this time.”

“Linc..” She begins.

“No Wyn. I’d rather have the memories than nothing.” I search her tear stained face waiting for her answer.

“Me too.” She whispers her confession.

********************************************************************

***Promised Teaser #2: Wyn & Shay (From Wyn's point of view)***

~FYI: Shay is the boy Wyn has been promised to.~

“Why do you think I did this?” He asks releasing my hand to pace back and forth in front of me.

“Because you’ve started tak
ing drugs and they’re causing you to slowly go insane.”

He stops his pacing and looks at me earnestly, “I’m being serious here.”

“So am I!”

“Jesus, don’t you know that I love you.”

All I can do is stare at him in shock, wondering when he officially lost his mind or if he’s always been like this and I’m only now seeing it.

“I have since we were kids. Why do you think I'm always around?”

“Because you're friends with my brothers. Not because you have some ill advised crush on me!” I yell coming out of my shocked state.

“Damn it Wyn, this isn’t a crush. I love you and we’re getting married!”

Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek into Wyn & Linc's lives. I can guarantee I'll post more as I get more of their story down, so keep a look out.~Michelle

***Reviving Bloom's New Cover***

Eden Crane, once again, made an absolutely beautiful cover. It's been uploaded to Smashwords and Amazon (hasn't changed on there yet). I've tried to upload it to Barnes & Noble, but their site isn't working with me at the moment. I'll try again there later.

Reviving Bloom is also being looked through for the missed grammatical errors and formatting issues. When that is done I'll upload the fixed copy and post a message here. As a treat the revised copy will also include the first two chapters from Enlightening Bloom & Promised.

A bunch of blogs are hosting a cover reveal for the new cover today and there is a giveaway on their blogs where you can win an e-copy of Reviving Bloom and there are 3 of the new signed bookmarks up for grabs. Pictures of the new bookmarks and the links to the blogs can be seen below.

Promised Cover Reveal

***Promised Cover Reveal***

Here is the beautiful cover that Eden Crane came up with for Promised. I love, love, love it!

I wrote yesterday that I would post the 2nd Chapter of Promised when I posted the cover and since I'm a girl of my word you'll find it at the bottom of this post. If you haven't already read the first chapter you can find it under the Promised tab at the top of this page or by clicking this link: http://michelleturnerauthor.blogspot.com/p/promised.html

Chapter 1 of Promised was Linc's point of view and if any of you have read my first book (Reviving Bloom) you know I like to share both characters side of the story, so Chapter 2 of Promised is from Wyn. I love these new characters so much and I hope you all do too.

So with out further delay here it is.......................

Chapter 2 – Wyn
~The Black Sheep Of The Family~
***UNEDITED***

“Dani?” I call out knocking on the door to my sister-in-law and best friend’s travel trailer.

“I’m in the bedroom Wyn. Come on back.” She calls back.

I walk the short distance to the back of the trailer where the bedroom is located. Dani is sitting on the bed folding onesies and placing them into neat stacks in a wicker laundry basket. Her red hair is pulled up into a messy bun on top of her head and she’s wearing black yoga pants and a tight fitting red tank top that shows off her tiny pregnant belly.

“So when will we know if I’m having a niece or a nephew?” I ask sitting on the edge of the bed and grabbing up a onesie to fold.

“The ultrasound is in three weeks.” She tells me.

“Do I get to go with you?” I ask placing the onesie on the stack in the basket and grabbing another.

“I wouldn’t have it any other way. I think Adam is going to take off and go too.” Dani tells me smiling from ear to ear. All Dani has ever wanted since we were little girls running around my parent’s front yard was to be a wife and a mother, and she always knew she wanted my brother Adam to be the man in that perfect life. Adam didn’t realize Dani was the end all be all for him until sometime last January. But once he realized it he didn’t waste time. He had his ring on her finger and her last name changed by April. They found out in September that they are expecting their first child and they’ve both been over the moon ever since.

“I think he’s more excited to find out the sex than either of us.” I return my friend’s smile.

“He’s so convinced we’re having a boy he’s already picked out a name and won’t even discuss girl names.” She says rolling her eyes.

“So what name has he chosen?” I ask.

“Clayton Allan.” She tells me.

“He’s not giving his child a name that starts with A? Complete blasphemy!” I tease. In my family everyone’s name begins with an A, but my mother. My father is Allan (Al). Then there is my brothers Aidan, Aldon, Alec, Aaron, and Adam. Finally there’s little ole me Arwyn. So Adam not going with the family tradition of choosing an A name might cause uproar in our tight knit clan.

“I know.” She sighs. “I warned him what that decision might cause, but you know how these men can be.”

“I’m proud of Adam for not giving into the family on this. Dani, you should be free to choose whatever baby name you want without having to worry about what my family might say.”

“Even so, it’s tradition.” Dani states firmly.

“So have you thought about girl names? Since my brother is being a stubborn butt.”

“If we do have a girl I’d like to name her Alana Arwyn.” She says watching closely for my reaction.

I of course don’t disappoint. I sit the onesie down and throw my arms around her giving her a hug, “You want to name your baby after me!”

“The middle name and only if the baby is a girl.” Dani laughs hugging me back.

“Still, you are willing to permanently scar your baby with the same name as her black sheep aunt. I think that’s a big deal.” I pull back and smile at her.

“You are not the black sheep of the family.” Dani scowls at me.

“I’m not married.” I state.

“There are several Romani girls not married yet.” She states firmly.

“I’m still in school.” I fire off another reason why I’m the black sheep.

“Well.” She’s can’t come up with a response to that so she sucks in her bottom lip and nibbles on the corner.

“It’s ok Dani I know that I’m the black sheep of the family. And you know I’m exactly where I want to be. I asked Daddy to let me graduate.” I try to ease her discomfort.

“I never understood that, but if that’s what you want I’m glad he gave it to you.” She tells me releasing her lip.

“I wish everyone was as understanding.” I whisper to myself.

“I’ve got some news that will cheer you up.” Dani declares putting her arm around me.

“Did you bake me the cupcakes that have sprinkles in the batter?” I ask. She knows I love the sprinkle cupcakes.

“No, but now that you bring them up I want some. I think this baby is going to like the same foods as his or her Aunt Wyn.” She giggles.

“That’s fitting since she’s going to have my name.” I grin.

“Only if it’s a girl and it’ll be her middle name.” She corrects me again.

“I’m still calling her Lil Wyn.” I inform her flicking my hand around.

“You are a complete goof.” She laughs at me.

“So what the news that’s better than cupcakes with sprinkles?” I ask getting us back on topic.

“I never said it was better than cupcakes with sprinkles. I said it would cheer you up.” She reminds me.

“The only thing that cheers me up is cupcakes with sprinkles so if you say it’ll cheer me up then it must be better.” I explain my reasoning.

“I’m seriously re-thinking this giving my baby your name as her middle name. I don’t know if I want her named after a goof.” Dani kids.

“Oh hush! You know you love me just the way I am.”

“There’s no way I’d have you any other way.” She gives my shoulder a squeeze.

“So what’s this fantabulous news?” I ask turning to look at her.

“Rumor has it that Shay Dawson is planning on speaking with your Dad about your hand.” She’s so excited by this news she’s bouncing her butt up and down on the bed.

“My hands seem fine.” I try to play ignorant, because I so don’t want this to happen.

“Oh don’t even try that act with me. You know exactly what I’m talking about.” She chides me.

“How reliable is this source?” I ask.

“Adam told me he heard it straight from Shay’s mouth himself.”

I let myself fall face first into the bed and grumble against the comforter, “Oh poop!”

“How can you not want this?” Dani asks as she absentmindedly strokes her pregnant belly.

“I’m not ready.” I grumble against the comforter some more.

“It’ll be fine.” She promises.

“Do you know how soon he’s planning his acquisition of me?” I sit up and snap.

“If Adam understood correctly, then it’ll be happening soon.” Dani tells me.

“Poop! Daddy promised me he’d let me finish school.” I complain. I thought I had my Dad wrapped around my pinky about this. I thought he understood I wanted to finish school before I took this step, but if he entertains Shay’s interest graduation could be thrown out the window. It’s not that Shay’s a bad guy, like Dani with Adam I’ve known him my whole life, but I don’t see him like that. He’s more like my sixth brother than my future husband. I don’t know what the Hades has gotten into him if he’s thinking about doing this.

“I better get home,” I stand up and grumble.

“Ok, but you could stay a little while longer.” She suggests.

“Nah, I need to get home and make some sprinkle cupcakes ASAP.” I give her a hug and head out of the trailer.
As I’m walking out of the trailer I walk smack dab into my brother.

“Easy there Winnie.” He says grabbing my shoulders to steady me. Out of all of my siblings I’m closest to Adam and he’s the only one on this planet I allow to call me Winnie.

“Hey Addie.” Just like his nickname for me, I’m the only one allowed to call him Addie.

“Leaving so soon?” He asks.

“Yeah, I’m gonna go make sprinkle cupcakes.” I tell him knowing he understands the meaning of sprinkle cupcakes to me.

“What’s wrong?” He asks releasing me. I’m about to answer when I notice we’re not alone. A few feet behind him stands the reason I’m upset. Shay Dawson has his hands shoved in his pocket and is watching the exchange between my brother and me closely.

“We’ll talk about it later.” I tell Adam while I glare at Shay. I’ve decided he’s on my list and he should know that’s not a good place to be. If he thinks I’m going to roll over and take this betrayal easily he’s sadly mistaken.

“I see Dani has been sharing.” Adam says noting my glare.

“I have no clue what you’re referring to.” I try to play innocent turning my attention back to my brother.

“It’s good to see you Wyn.” Shay finally speaks up. He has taken one of his hands out of his pocket and is using it to smooth down his honey blonde hair.

“Don’t even try it Shay Dawson.” I snap my attention back to him.

“Come on Wyn. Don’t be this way.” He pleads.

“You….you..Ugh! I’m leaving.” I throw up my hands and stomp off without saying goodbye.
